CEMs Data Processing and Reports

In accordance with current international regulations established in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Volume 40, Part 75 of the US EPA, also taking as reference the Chilean regulations from the document called Protocol for Continuous Monitoring Validation of Emissions (CEMs) in Thermoelectric Power Plants, and also the respective Emission Standards that apply in the various fixed sources installed nationwide, the need arises to establish annual plans and / or projects of audits and / or validations of CEMS by provisions of the current Environmental Authority, which corresponds to the Superintendency of the Environment (SMA in Spanish).

In effect, the SMA protocol establishes the requirements and tests for the installation and validation of CEMs in chimneys or pipelines of electricity generation units – affected by S.D. N ° 13 of 2011- for monitoring the concentration and mass emission rate of pollutants SO2, NOX, Particulate Matter (PM) and parameters of interest such as humidity, flow, CO2 and O.2

In PARTICULAS we carry out the processing and validation of data registered by the CEMs in compliance with the requirements and protocols established by the Environmental Superintendence (SMA in Spanish), among those who are obliged to report emissions through CEMs:

Stacks or ducts of electrical generation units - affected by S.D. N ° 13 of 2011- for monitoring the concentration and mass emission rate of SO2, NOX, Particulate Matter (PM) pollutants and parameters of interest such as humidity, flow, CO2 and O2.

Recovery Boiler, Lime Furnace, Dedicated Incinerator and Power Boiler used as dedicated TRS combustion equipment - affected by S.D. N ° 37 of 2013 - for TRS emissions monitoring

Stacks of Incinerators and Co-incinerators - affected by S.D. N ° 29 of 2013 - for the continuous monitoring of particulate matter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and Nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions.

Stacks of acid plant in copper smelters - affected by N ° 28 of 2013 - for continuous monitoring of sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions.
